Most people know that meditation is good for them but they may not know where, when, or how to develop a consistent practice…so we started MeditationWorks! Our mobile meditation studio is just like a food truck…but for your brain! We help you and your team achieve stronger focus and better overall wellness by supplying your brains with a steady and consistent diet of the most effective stress management tool available: meditation! All you need is your breath and your willingness.

We are a meditation studio…but on wheels! We pull right up to your company’s door one or two times per week and your group steps inside our custom designed studio. Each session includes personal attention from one of our experienced meditation guides, as well as a 10 minute guided meditation recording delivered by our extremely talented and experienced meditation teacher, Justin Barnes.

We offer programs ranging from single meditations for events, to our eight week introductory “Test Drive” series, to our more dynamic and creative ongoing program. We make meditation work for you!

Our Story

Our story started with a mother, a son, and their incredible passion for mindfulness. By the spring of 2015, a recent college graduate was struggling with his first “real” job. Stressed-out and unable to sleep, he took his mom’s advice and tried meditation. Phone apps, YouTube videos, subscriptions, and some eye-opening sessions at a nearby meditation center. But none of it worked! The phone was too distracting, the home had familiar distractions, and the center was inconvenient and too expensive for him to attend consistently. He gave up.

At about the same time, his Mom (Joanne Leider – Now current Program Director of MeditationWorks), stepped into the shower after her daily yoga class contemplating a question the teacher had presented that very morning: “Why doesn’t anyone meditate consistently?” She knew the benefits of meditation firsthand. She also knew the barriers far too well. Everyone was so stressed out and needed meditation more than ever. But how do you get someone to do it consistently? After considering this in the shower, she stepped out with an idea:

So people everywhere could not only just take a break, but take a better, healthier, more productive break. Not to eat, smoke, or scroll through their phones, but to meditate.

Months later, Jake Leider launched MeditationWorks, the first and only mobile stress solutions company. MeditationWorks provides effective ten-minute meditation sessions to stressed individuals everywhere in a beautifully appointed dedicated space, our mobile meditation studio. Consider it a rolling relaxation room. In this mobile studio, groups up to 15 can practice a brief, concentrated, and creative meditation session, and then be on their way and back to work in just 15 minutes. These short sessions help you attain:

Joanne Leider is a registered nurse and is now the Program Director for MeditationWorks. She has been married 27 years to Jeff, a surgeon, and is a mom to Jake, Founder of MeditationWorks, and Joey, a Georgetown University medical student. She has been practicing yoga and mindfulness daily for over 17 years and loves fitness, healthy food, rescue dogs and The Heidelberg Project.

Justin Barnes

Justin Barnes is a 40 year-old yoga and mindfulness teacher with over seventeen years of daily instruction and practice. He is a lifelong “Deadhead” and loves the outdoors. He and wife Janelle are proud parents of 2-year-old Gavin Garcia Barnes.

  • Completed over 200 hours of teacher training, with certificate.
